Maari Ma Healthy Start Playgroup

Children aged 0–5 and their parents can share talking, singing, reading and play at the Maari Ma Child and Family building, 428 Argent Street. Sessions are held on Wednesdays for babies aged 0–18 months and Fridays for children aged 19 months–5 years. Transport may be available; speak with the Early Years Project Leader about attending.

PCYC OOSH Care – Broken Hill

After-school and vacation care is available for children aged 5–12 at 58 Gypsum Street. Enrolment is required, and the provider states that the service is approved for the Child Care Subsidy.

The Y Space Broken Hill

Young people aged 12–25 can connect, develop skills and seek support at this space within the Broken Hill Regional Aquatic Centre. School-term drop-ins run on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3pm to 6pm, with no booking required.

Parents and carers can seek help with a child’s crying, sleep, feeding or behaviour. Consultations are generally around two hours and may be face-to-face or virtual. You can book without a health-professional referral, and Day Service fees are covered by Medicare.

Far West Child and Family Health Nursing

Based at Broken Hill Community Health Centre, this service provides new-baby home visits, vaccinations, breastfeeding and parenting support, groups, drop-in clinics and developmental health checks from birth to four years. Contact the centre to arrange an appointment.

Mission Australia NDIS Early Childhood Approach – Western and Far West NSW

Children aged 0–9 with developmental concerns, developmental delay or disability—and their families or carers—can access early-childhood partner support. Self, family, community and mainstream referrals are accepted, with an office at 146 Chloride Street, Broken Hill.

Pivotal Wellness Collective

This Broken Hill occupational therapy provider offers consultations, assessments, reports and individual therapy at home, through telehealth or in the community. A diagnosis is not required. Private clients and self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants are accepted.
